EC issues fresh dates to hear alleged fake degree cases

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) here on Monday issued fresh dates to hear the alleged fake degree cases of nine parliamentarians.

In the second hearing regarding the fake degree cases that held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary of ECP Muhammad Afzal Khan and a nominated officer of the commission.

Representative and Focal Person of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Rahim Bux Channa was also present in the hearing.

Out of nine parliamentarians, the representatives of five attended the hearing and requested for fixing another date citing some genuine reasons, while the other four remained absent, said a press release here.

The EC gave September six as next date to Syed Muhammad Salman Mohsin (A-165), September 16 to Kishwar Kumar (PK-Reserved Seat), September 23 to Saima Aziz (Reserved Seat- Punjab), September 23 to Khalifa Abdul Qayum Khan (PK-64) and "date in office" to  Syed Javed Hasnain Shah (NA-68).

The four absent parliamentarians Gulistan Khan (PK-69), Mir Humayun Aziz Kurd (NA-267), Mir Israr Ullah Khan (Senator - Balochistan) and Shamma Parveen Magsi (Reserved Seat-Balochistan) were issued final notices to appear on September 6.
