MQM is being punished for raising voice against land mafia, drug mafia
Deputy Convener, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee, Anees Ahmed Qaimkhani on Tuesday said his party is being punished for raising voice against land mafia and drug mafia.
He along with the other party leaders was addressing a press conference at Azizabad here.
He said that the killing of MQM MPA Raza Haider was not the first incident but many activists of the party had been killed in different areas in the metropolis.
Anees Ahmed Qaimkhani said the killers of Raza Haider, his guard, Muhammad Khalid and MQM's sympathizer Muhammad Arsalan be arrested. The MQM leader also called for initiating a high-level probe into the incident of killing of MQM MPA.
He said the MQM is busy in relief activities for providing help to the flood affectees but their blood is being shed by the enemies of the humanity.
Anees Qaimkhani said the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has also appealed to the people and the party activists to remain calm and maintain peace in the city.
The MQM has appealed to observe three-day peaceful mourning on the murder of MQM MPA, he added.
He said we also want to tell the terrorists that we cannot be discouraged through acts of terrorism and we will keep our struggle continue.
He said we do not want lip-services and practical steps be taken to arrest the culprits of our leaders and workers.
The MQM leader said" we want peace in city whether it be maintained through deployment of the Rangers or Police but we only prefers that tranquillity be maintained in the city.
He said that the MQM opposed all those elements, which are against the freedom of the media.
Member MQM Rabita Committee, Nasreen Jaleel, Raza Haroon, Syed Mustafa Kamal and others were also present on the occasion.
