Winston Churchill says “We make a living by what we get but we make a LIFE by what we give.” Is that so? Let’s ponder over this beautiful quote this Ramadan and bring it into practice by expanding the amount and means by which we make charity and donations.

No doubt, Pakistan tops the list of countries as far as fund raising is concerned, in the month of Ramadan. Rate of corruption being high in Pakistan, people usually face difficulty as to what organization rightly deserves their charity. Seylani, KKF, Edhi and Chipa are among some popular nonprofit organizations that most people prefer donating to. Although, lesser in fame, there are some other considerable organizations, like Jafferia Disaster Cell (JDC), working on pure humanitarian grounds and worth of our charity.

Founded in 2009, JDC is working as an independent, non governmental, nonprofit and charitable organization. Its motto is to minimize human sufferings and help the people affected by disasters to revive their routine lives. Exclusively dedicated to the services of humanity irrespective of any discrimination, JDC is not linked to any political or ethnic group, faction or party. During Ramadan, JDC organizes iftaars on different occasions at Numaish Chowrangi , which is the center of  Karachi.

So enlarge your sphere of worthy charitable organizations this Ramadan and do include JDC as well. Remember “No one has ever become poor by giving.”
